From 18 August 2008 until 31 October 2008 customers using Western Sydney services will be entitled to a 50% fare discount.

The SmartSaver off-peak fare trial is designed to encourage customers to avoid the most crowded trains and travel outside the morning and afternoon peaks.

Customers who buy single or return tickets at stations between Emu Plains/Richmond and Auburn on the Western Line, or any station on the Carlingford Line can take advantage of the SmartSaver fare.

The discount will be available to customers who, on their morning journeys, travel on designated services scheduled to arrive at Central Station before 7.15am or between 9.15am and 10.15am.

To qualify for the full benefit, customers need to return on designated services departing Central Station before 4.00pm or after 6.30pm.
